The Obama campaign appears to have a new strategy in dealing with Hillary Clinton's delegates. I call it "all you need is love". Yesterday I participated in a conference call with the Obama/DNC campaign for all North Carolina delegates where they specifically invited Hillary delegates to join in with the Obama delegates. I wanted to see what they were up to. Apparently the Obama/DNC campaign has taken over delegate relations for both the Obama and Clinton delegates. To show us how much they love us, the moderator of the call made a special effort not to say anything bad about Hillary, or anything that would offend Hillary’s delegates. We are supposed to be one big happy family.
I can't say that I don't like the new strategy, but I can say that I don't trust it. What the delegates for Hillary Clinton want is to go to the convention and have Hillary treated with the respect due to any candidate who received more than half the votes in the primaries. While I prefer the nice approach to being ignored, it's not going to deter me from my job as a Clinton delegate to go to the convention and do everything I can to support her candidacy for the President of the United States.
Last week when I spoke to Howard Dean (chairman of the "former" DNC which has apparently been absorbed into the new Obama/DNC campaign) he said that if Hillary wants the nomination and roll call vote she will get it. How condescending that is. It is the party that should be welcoming her to an open convention where all delegates are free to vote in a manner that reflects the wishes of those people who elected them. The nomination, roll call vote, speeches in support of the candidate and all that goes with it are the way of bringing all the voters into the convention process, regardless of the winner at the end. To make this look like some personal issue for Hillary is demeaning not only to Hillary but also to the party, the convention and all the 18 million voters that voted for Hillary in the primaries.
We do need love, but that's not all we need. We need respect too.

"Women for Obama" ? It's like saying, "Mothers For Drug Dealers".
The MSM and Obama gang miss the whole point as to why women are "cool" towards this pompous rascal. A friend sent an article from The Chicago Sun-Times and Carol Marin hits it right on a few points in her article, "Women Voters Aren't Warming to ' Cool' Obama". Ms. Marin uses the analogy of Hillary Supporters (macaroni and cheese) to Michelle Obama's crowd of women donors (organic chicken). Though Marin is right that Hillary has the support of the working class, and (most specifically) women of the working class, Marin describes Hillary's supporters as having to choose between a gallon of gas and a gallon of milk. Just working women? Still, Marin generalizes all the way through the article in her description of Hillary supporters. After reading it, I felt as though I should only ride into town on Saturday for supplies. Let me stand up for the working class! Even on bad days, Hillary supporters add wieners or sausage to their macaroni and cheese. Go read the article, and tell me if you don't feel a nasty rub in there somewhere...TR

Hillary Supporters Can Not Identify the Items Below.

Fresh from his presidential-style world tour, during which foreign leaders and American generals lined up to show him affection, Obama settled down to some presidential-style business in Washington yesterday. He ordered up a teleconference with the (current president's) Treasury secretary, granted an audience to the Pakistani prime minister and had his staff arrange for the chairman of the Federal Reserve to give him a briefing. Then, he went up to Capitol Hill to be adored by House Democrats in a presidential-style pep rally.

On his bus, after being met by Clinton protesters in Charlotte, Howard Dean told reporters,
“I’m not sure all of them are Clinton supporters,” he said. “I think some of them are having fun at the Democrats’ expense. I think shouting through somebody’s speech is low-class.”
That’s a very weird comment even for Dr. Dean! He refuses to answer our letters, our calls, our e-mails, our petitions and now our public protests are ‘low class.’
You have mounted a bus at our expense and are traveling our roads and stopping in our towns and are eating our food at our expense and talking at will to our people and yet you do not allow us to talk back. You expect to come to us and tell us what you want us to hear but are not open to hear us and all this on our dime. You have the unmitigated gall to repot that we are low class? You Dr. Dean have no class at all. Move away from our table, get off our damned bus and go home!
News Flash! Donna Brazille , Winner of this weeks Jack-Ass Award!!!
"How many ways do these Hillary delegates, voters and supporters need to hear it before they get it? Sen. Barack Obama is the party's nominee. He won. He will get to choose his running mate. Obama sets the agenda for the convention, and, while I understand their passion in wanting Hillary to be on the ticket and to have a prominent role at the convention, it's not her decision... As much as we all would have loved to see a woman in the Oval Office, it wasn't Hillary's time. Period."...7-22, Our Ms. Jack-Ass, Donna Brazille
You're a mean one, Ms.Brazille. You're a cold one, Ms. Brazille!
You steal all our votes, you manipulate with hate......

Barack Obama’s half-brother has quietly been promoting cheap Chinese exports as the Democratic senator raises his domestic and international profile in the race for the White House, according to the Sunday Times of London.
Mark Ndesandjo — the son of Barack Obama’s late father and his third wife, American Ruth Nidesand who runs an upscale kindergarten in Nairobi – has taken significant steps to avoid public scrutiny, the paper reported. Ndesandjo's relationship to the Democratic hopeful remains unknown to most of his acquaintances in Shenzhen, a border boomtown in southern China where he has lived since 2002.
While Obama refers to Ndesandjo simply as “my brother,” the two men have held divergent viewpoints on their American heritage and the how to live in the glare of publicity, according to the Times of London.
“He is big, strong and full of energy, speaks good Chinese and is a really easy-going guy,” a Chinese friend of Ndesandjo’s told the Times of London. “He always wears a hat over his shaven head. I believe he has several consultancy jobs.” read more
Saw this video on The Confluence and agreed with the sentiment....I want Hillary back. It is refreshing to see someone hard at work taking care of everyday issues the non-elites must face such as buying gasoline.
At no time was Dean over-talked during his speech in Charlotte, N.C. Dean was not interrupted. Howard Dean was aware of us due to our chanting "Puma" when he descended the bus. We numbered one protester for every two Obama Supporter. We were distracting in large part because we had very visible signs designed by one of our members. We also had T-shirts ready with our logo and the Puma logo for every attending Puma Supporter. We were very organized and worked on making a good show. We had our permit receipts handy knowing we would not be well received or welcome.
My thinking is that Dean and his Gang were not expecting an excellent group of clinging southern women walking into the depths of Dean's territory.
Our fault? Disagreeing with the powers at play. We did let Dean hear from us when he shook hands with his crowd, and during parts of his speech when he said: "President Obama." In addition, Dean repeated the words "President Obama" as if to rancor our group.
Why the press exaggerated Obama's turnout is to be explained for political reasons only.
In using the words "Low Class" and dismissing us as a bunch of "Republicans" does show how Dean and the DNC have dismissed a major arm of the Democratic Party.
Susan Burgess, City Council Rep at large, was sent out to talk to us. She did allow us to speak. Burgess said she had previously supported Clinton, a fact of which we were well aware from her attendance at Clinton functions. Burgess' objective was to enlist our support for Obama. When it became apparent that this would not happen, Susan Burgess referred to our group as "uncivil" when giving an interview to a local newspaper.
Dean and the DNC will continue to reference all protests in behalf of Hillary's nomination as an effort of "LOW CLASS" racists and or republicans seeking to reek havoc and as exhibiting irrational behaviors.
Is it any wonder that there are 18 million Americans who feel disenfranchised by the party they have supported their entire lives?….TR
One of our letters to the Editor of "The Charlotte Observer"
Re: Hillary protesters greet Dean in Charlotte
Once again, Jim Morrill must have been at a different political event than I was. He states that there were about 150 participants at the Howard Dean rally on Friday. I counted about 40 rally participants, ten members of the press, ten police and about seven politicians. I agree that there were about 2 dozen protesters, a significantly higher ratio of protesters to participants. He doesn't mention what a well-organized protest it was, or the fact that Dean was also greeted by Hillary supporters in Greensboro earlier in the day. We will continue to protest while we still have free speech in this country, even if the mainstream media no longer exercises its right.
Now I am sure we love Howie more than ever. During a brief interview with reporters on the Magic Bus in Charlotte,N.C.,Howie told reporters: "I'm not sure all of them are Clinton supporters," he said. "I think some of them are having fun at the Democrats' expense. I think shouting through somebody's speech is low-class."Quoted From Keep in mind that the Observer reported 150-170 Obama supporters. We counted. There were 70 at the tops including politicians and reporters. There were about 24 Pumas gathered.
Yes, Howie, we are your low class, gun toting, religion-clinging, bitter Democrats.
Howie, you are also in denial. We are Democrats....Real Democrats...who refuse to vote for someone so unqualified as Obama.
You see, it is statements previously made by Obama and Dean that proved to us how a radical segment of the Democratic Left have no respect for Hillary or her supporters. In fact, Dean and his troopers have said much nastier things to us than I ever heard from the Rovian Republicans of years gone by.
On the other hand, maybe it was the "Dump Dean" signs that sent our buddy Dean over the edge one more time.TR
Cross-posted from Marc's Musings...Thanks Marc for the work...We are tired tonight in Charlotte, Atlanta, Asheville, and Greenville! The Southeast Pumas came together....
After the speech I got a chance to speak briefly with Dean. I told him that many Hillary delegates are anxious about how the convention is going to be run. We have no official communication from either the DNC or the Hillary campaign. So we rely mostly on rumors.
repeated his previous comments that these rumors were put out by McCain
people, but then he went on to say that the rules of the convention are
very clear and they will be followed. He said that if Hillary wants her
name placed in nomination, roll call vote, etc., then she can have it.
He seemed to put the responsibility for this solely on Hillary. Dean
also said that to ignore Hillary or her supporters at the convention
would be foolish. He appeared very put off by the PUMAs but agreed that
the delegates had a legitimate need for communication.
I can honestly say that Dean's face turned red and he faced us at one point to yell once again that we needed to give him a chance to speak and then he would give us a chance. No such deal. Dean stayed away from us and never looked our way again. The police did not let us cross the sidewalk, but that was not an issue for us. The Obama supporters were surprised to see us, and at first yelled "unity" in unison. We yelled back "Puma" and chanted: "Selected...Not Elected!!"
Dean lost his cool with the Pumas and the Charlotte Front and Center Group. They know we are out here in loud strong numbers! I think Dean might really be a coward after all....TR
Obama drives ratings, but media are focusing on the sizzle over the steak, Glenn Beck says.
NEW YORK (CNN) -- "Sometimes it's hard to tell if Barack Obama is running for president of the United States or Mr. Universe."
If you're guessing that's a quote from Michelle Obama, you're wrong. It was the first sentence of a recent article about Obama's frequent gym visits, published by the esteemed Associated Press.
So many Americans have apparently been worried that Obama might lose
his great six-pack abs, the AP felt obligated to step in and put our

Fox News: The committee hosting the Democratic National Convention this August in Denver has been taking advantage of tax-free gas through the city of Denver for the past four months, according to a report by the Rocky Mountain News.
The newspaper reports that, once the practice was made public, an aide to Mayor John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, issued a statement Tuesday saying that members of the committee would pay full market price for gasoline, including the 40 cents a gallon in state and federal taxes.
Committee members apparently have been allowed to fill up their tanks at city pumps. The city doesn’t pay taxes on its gasoline, prompting questions over whether the host committee would be exempt from the taxes as well when they reimburse the city for the gas.
Colorado Attorney General John Suthers said the practice “would seem” to be illegal, and he referred the matter to the state Department of Revenue, according to the Rocky Mountain News.
The Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization formed to raise money to pay for the Democrats’ 2008 presidential convention from Aug. 25-28, according to the committee’s Web site. It also enlists volunteers, arranges for delegates’ accommodations and provides media credentials for the convention.
The city of Denver has a service contract with the host committee that is expected to generate about $466,000 in revenues for the city, according to the Rocky Mountain News.
“We’re a nonpartisan, nonprofit committee, but certainly, if the city feels that taxes are applicable, we will pay those, too,” Chris Lopez, spokesman for the host committee, told the newspaper. He added that the committee is using the city’s pumps “for safety and security reasons.”

A year ago, Obama was asked whether he would meet personally, without preconditions, with leaders of Iran and other hostile nations during the first year of his administration to resolve differences with the United States. Obama responded at the time: “I would.”
On Wednesday Obama said, “I think that what I said in response was that I would at my time and choosing be willing to meet with any leader if I thought it would promote the national security interests of the United States of America. And that continues to be my position. That if I think that I can get a deal that is going to advance our cause, then I would consider that opportunity. But what I also said was that there is a difference between meeting without preconditions and meeting without preparation.”
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Party Unity My A--!
Not all of Sen. Hillary Clinton's supporters have fallen in line behind Sen. Barack Obama.
Not exactly the slogan you want heading into your presidential nominating convention, but one that is being repeated online and in neighborhood bars by a group of disenchanted Democrats, who have dubbed themselves PUMAs.
Why are they angry? It all depends on whom you ask.
Some of the PUMAs accuse Democratic leaders of rigging the primaries to favor Sen. Barack Obama, while others feel that he is not qualified to be the party nominee, let alone competent enough to lead the country.
Kim Mann said she thinks that Obama is too liberal. Webster Tarpley said the senator from Illinois is too conservative. But Mann, a 52-year-old project manager from Manassas, Virginia, and Tarpley, a self-described 62-year-old "controversial author," agree on one thing: Neither wants Obama to be the Democratic nominee. Watch why some Democrats oppose Obama's nomination »
Even though Sen. Hillary Clinton conceded the Democratic presidential nomination to Obama in early June and urged all of her supporters to vote for him, not all of her backers heeded the call. Hence, the beginning of the PUMA movement.
"What we are really organizing about is to reinitiate Hillary back into the presidential race," Mann said during a recent interview at a Washington bar, where she met with fellow PUMAs for kinship and to strategize about how to make Clinton the Democratic nominee.
Will Bower, the 36-year-old head of the PUMA pack, and his like-minded Democrats are angry because they charge that the Democratic National Committee unfairly imposed sanctions on Michigan and Florida after both states violated party rules by holding primary contests before February 5. Clinton won both primaries -- Obama's name was not even on the Michigan ballot -- and had those states counted at the beginning, well, who knows what would have happened.
"I have never voted for anything but a Democrat, and I feel that there has been an internal coup, and they are putting forward a candidate that does not represent the will of the Democratic Party," Bower said.
To be fair, the DNC did go through a lengthy review process of the primary calendar and warned every state that only four -- Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina -- would be allowed to hold primaries before Super Tuesday. And if you ask the Obama campaign, it's confident that the senator is up to the job.
WASHINGTON — Afghanistan while keeping perhaps 50,000 has triggered a deep rift among antiwar activists, a reminder of the difficult tasking facing the presumptive Democratic nominee as he tries to broaden his appeal.'s plan to build up U.S. forces in
The Illinois senator wrapped up three days of tours and talks in the war-ravaged nations Tuesday, stressing in a news conference that the "situation in Afghanistan is perilous and urgent" and that "we should not wait any longer" to provide additional troops.
In Iraq , Obama won a tacit Iraqi endorsement of a plan to withdraw U.S. combat troops in 2010, but he also said that he backs leaving a residual force in Iraq to help train military personnel, provide security for U.S. interests and thwart terrorist threats. The residual force might total up to 50,000 troops, his campaign advisers have told reporters.

The New York Times on Friday blocked an opinion piece submitted by John McCain to the newspaper shortly after it printed a piece by his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, McCain campaign officials confirmed to FOX News on Monday.
Obama’s piece detailed his plans for Iraq and Afghanistan. While McCain’s proposed piece also discussed Iraq, The Times told McCain’s advisers that it would not accept the op-ed in its current form because it did not offer new information. Obama’s speech previewed a series of speeches leading up to a highly publicized trip to war zones in the Middle East. Read More

On the eve of Democrat Barack Obama’s overseas tour, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told employees at U.S. embassies to provide only minimal help to visiting presidential candidates.
The orders went to all overseas posts and tell government employees not to do anything that might show favoritism or amount to improper campaign activity. A spokesman said the State Department issued similar orders ahead of presumed Republican nominee John McCain’s similar overseas tour four months ago, but limited the communication to embassies in countries the Republican planned to visit...end quote
It's about time we controlled this arrogant campaigner as he "fact finds" with taxpayer dollars.
by Grace Brummel
I'm finding a problem with what I see on the news. Hillary and Bill are campaigning for Obama as if he has the nomination in the name of party unity. As you used to hear as a child, appearances count. We have not yet had the convention .This is first time in the history of this country that we have had this happen, someone who has not conceded campaigning for the opponent. What kind of pressure is the DNC putting on it's high profile membership behind the scenes?
Obama is going on a tour of Afghanistan, Iraq and Europe. He can't be on a diplomatic mission as he has no authority. This gives an appearance but has no substance. He's not the president , are we taxpayers paying for this?
Hillary was stripped of 4 Delegates by the DNC and those Delegates were given to Obama. Is this yet another move to give Obama a procedural win,do the members of this party count for anything?
Right now no one can get an answer on Hilliay being in Nomination and her name on the ballot in the convention. If that is the case, she will, in effect, be stripped of all of her committed delegates and any Super Delegates. In other words, the convention will be rigged. Party Unity My Ass! The party has been divided and the primary has been stolen in favor of Obama.
Obviously the DNC and the Obama Campaign want to fill the airwaves with misconceptions about this candidate. Many of us are just not falling for it. We demand an open convention or many or most of us will leave the party. The pretentious pretender needs to get the nomination not by trickery but by being properly elected. Is it that the party and Obama are afraid to hold a real vote at the convention?
A friend once told me that Motown songs have all the wisdom you need for life: Believe half of what you see, son, and none of what you hear......let us hope that more people will start to analyze what they see and hear with at least a small degree of skepticism.
