I guess the fantasy president made a grand entrance into London. The Times Online headline reads:
“In a blaze of dazzling light from above, disciples witness the First Coming of Obama”
Obama in his helicopter over London
When I first read this article, I thought it was a spoof, but apparently this is a factual story. He really did fly into town in a helicopter and land next to the US Ambassador’s residence in Regents Park.
The lead paragraph continues:
It says a lot about a man, how he makes his big entrance. A motorcade says brute power, as everyone stops to make way for The Leader and an arrival that no one can ignore. But a helicopter out of the night sky? An other-worldly presence coming down out of the starry heavens, bright lights cutting through the darkness as the divine presence comes down to earth?
There were even a few kool-aide drinkers there waiting to catch a glimpse.
Emily Gee, originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, but now working in London for English Heritage, said: “Obama is just great. We wanted to be part of it when he is in London. I had a big party at my house on inauguration night, and I wanted to carry on the theme.
She had an Obama badge strung round her neck, and a Stars and Stripes flag to wave when the presidential helicopter landed. “I’ve got an Obama Mama T-shirt in my bag,” she said, “but I thought that was maybe a little too much.”
All of this excitement over the fantasy president? Here’s a photo of the fantasy Prez I found over at Lame Cherry. Now, Lame Cherry has his/her own story about what the heck this photo is all about, but I’m not going to repeat it here. But this is the guy they're swooning over in London.
Why is this man winking?
In the meantime, SOS Hillary Clinton (wink wink, the real President) is busy meeting and greeting all of the dignitaries in true Presidential style and looking terrific on top of it all.
Hillary in London
You go figure, I’ll never understand how this all came about, but rest assured SOS (I mean President) Hillary Clinton is doing her job with grace and wit, while Mr. Fantasy is out looking for a place to sneak a cig.
