The Thomas Paine Freedom March is scheduled for Labor Day weekend, September 12 and 13 in Washington DC. The gathering will be at the Lincoln Memorial Reflection Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. The organizer of the march is Freedoms First, founded by Steve Domina. Steve reports that he has the permit for the march and rally.
From what I read on the website, the march will be in the spirit of the tea parties. So, if you fall into the category of right wing extremist as defined by Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security, start making your plans now. You will be in good company because the guys pictured below also fall into that category:
Having the march in September gives us all time to more clearly define what the marches and tea parties are all about. For one thing, they are not about the Republican Party getting new members or the Demcratic Party getting dissed. The protests and marches belong to the people, not the politicians and opportunists who want to cash in on the immense and powerful energy emanating from “We The People” who are down right teed off about the fact that our duly elected representatives are not listening to us. Charlotte Front and Center has a very good article about this; click here to read it.
We The People need to stay in control of our purpose and to further define not only what that purpose is, but what actions need to be taken to bring about the changes we want. We need to maintain a nonpartisan atmosphere so people of all political persuasions feel comfortable attending the marches and rallies. It is not just self-defined, or DHS-defined, conservatives who are hopping mad; it’s also moderates, independents, liberals, and libertarians who object to the bankrupting of our country for ourselves and future generations.
We The People also object to Senators and Representatives, many of whom have been in office so long that they think they are royalty, who do not listen when the people speak. We know that the calls and emails they received against the stimulus and bail outs were overwhelmingly negative and yet, THEY VOTED YES.
So mark your calendars, plan your vacation time, and enjoy this new video from our modern day Thomas Paine:
Good to know.
I may just be there!
