The Avalokiteshavara Mantra is the great mantra of compassion. In this video, we hear the chanting of the mantra at Plum Village, which is the Buddhist monastery and mindfulness retreat center founded by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnameses Buddhist monk, poet, scholar and peace activist. He founded Plum Village in 1969 in France. His dedication and efforts to generate peace and reconciliation moved Martin Luther King, Jr. to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967.
Below is a lovely chant video filmed at Plum Village. Enjoy.
