I was absolutely livid this morning when I read that the Obamacare bill created by Harry Reid is designed to make sure that rationed care (read Death Panels) for senior citizens is permanent and can never be repealed.
Senator Jim DeMint discovered that on page 1020 of the text, Reid has created a rule binding future sessions of Congress to a supermajority requirement to overrule the bill’s rationing board, the Independent Medical Advisory Board, whose purpose (stated on page 1001) is to “reduce the per capita rate of growth in Medicare spending.”
I’ve been trying to call my Democrat Senator, Kay Hagan, all day; clearly she has her phone shut down. I then called my Republican Senator, Richard Burr, and asked if he would talk to DeMint about this and do whatever he can to remove the supermajority requirement from the bill. I also asked him to contact Hagan for me because she does not appear to want to hear from her constituents.
I am so sickened by the actions of our elected officials. They do not seem to understand that two-thirds of the American people do not want this bill passed. What are they thinking? They definitely have their heads stuck up where the sun don’t shine, now don’t they?
I saw this hilarious Ray Stevens video singing about Obamacare. It made me laugh a bit. Hope it does the same for you. (Hat tip to Hillbuzz for the video).
