First we have the sham trial and conviction of American student Amanda Knox in a kangaroo court known as the Italian judicial system.
Now we have some big-mouthed Italian who thinks he knows more about handling the catastrophe in Haiti than the United States State Department and military.
Guido Bertolaso, head of Italy's civil protection department, said that the US-led efforts were a "pathetic" failure.
Guido is a very smart man…smarter than anyone in the USA
Mr Bertolaso compared the US response to Haiti to its reaction to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. "It's a truly powerful show of force, but it's completely out of touch with reality. They don't have close rapport with the territory and they certainly don't have a rapport with international organisations and aid groups," he said.
Why is this man so smart? The answer: he oversaw another catastrophe in which 300 people died. That means he is an expert on catastrophes. Three hundred or 300,000; what’s the difference? Well in this guy’s mind, none.
Let’s see, we also had the French criticizing our efforts (along with Hugo Chavez). Maybe we should just pull out and let the Europeans handle this situation since they are smarter than us anyway.
For all of you who think that their democratic socialist governments are light years ahead of us; that their one-month vacations, two-hour lunches, and heath care are something to admire, let me point something out. The reason they can live such lives of luxury is because they spend zilch on defense. And why is that; because they depend on us to defend them. If it wasn’t for the USA, they would all be part of Germany right now, or in the case of Italy, living in a fascist state led by a pseudo Mussolini.
Personally, I think this snotty type of criticism is an issue of big, male European egos that have never recovered from WWII and the fact that the USA had to save them.
Italy claims there was no anti-Americanism involved in the framing of Knox. And I guess this big-mouthed attack on American generosity is a sign of respect? You could fool me. Keep it up and it will be a cold day in hell before another American tourist dollar makes its way into your pockets.
And by the way, how much has Italy contributed to Haiti?
Ouch! Beware the boot!
