I guess I am really sticking my neck out by letting everyone know that I don’t see anything wrong with people asking questions about 9/11 or Obama’s birth. This must mean I am a weirdo, crackpot, irrational, nutty person who certainly is not worthy of holding public office.
I may not think there are issues revolving around 9/11 or Obama, or I might think there are, but I certainly don’t think people who ask questions about these situations or issues should be demeaned, labeled crackpots, or denied a fair hearing.
This whole situation with Glen Beck ambushing Debra Medina, the independent Republican candidate for governor of Texas, and the brewing slander of tea party candidate, J. D. Hayworth, who is running against John McCain in Arizona, smacks to me of smear ball politics at its worst (or is it best).
Medina made the “mistake” of saying that she thought some of the questions being asked about 9/11 were good questions and Hayworth made the “mistake” of suggesting that asking a president to produce his birth certificate was a valid request.
In return for even implying that the so-called “Truthers” and “Birthers” might be asking legitimate questions, they are being lambasted and demeaned by both the left and the right.
What bothers me is that the American people are so easily swayed and, yes, controlled, by the power-elite in this country and their tools-of-persuasion, the media. I heard some one in Texas say, immediately after Beck completed his ambush that well, she was going to vote for Medina, but now she has changed her mind, I guess because Glenn Beck thinks only wingbats think asking dangerous questions is what a free society is all about.
Folks, there is never going to be any change in our government if we continue to allow ourselves to be manipulated by the powerbrokers into believing that only people who meet their approval are worthy of public office; or only people who look and act like them are worthy of public office; or only people who do not question authority are worthy of public office. This is why we keep getting no change, election after election, in spite of the American people saying they want change.
What’s really going on with this left/right bashing of the tea party and their candidates is that both sides are scared sh*tless. Both sides see threats to their power. Right now both sides are using Alinsky methods to achieve their purpose: knock out the tea party and get back to business as usual.
There is a war going on within the Republican Party over who will control the future of the party and the Rinos are going to do anything they can to destroy the tea party movement and their candidates.
I give credit to Rush Limbaugh for recognizing this on his show today when he said, “The Republican Party is fighting the tea party people now for control of the party, there's a big battle going on.”
And I am sorry if this offends the conservatives in the audience, but Glenn Beck is going to support Romney and as far as I can tell he must be working for him right now. Beck and Romney are Mormons and that is clan and family all rolled into one. This is my prediction and I’ll bet you a slice of chocolate cake I am right.
As far as the Left/Dems are concerned, they have the media to continue labeling anyone like Medina and Hayworth as weirdo nut cases and just keep hammering on it until it has taken over the consciousness of the American people. Actually, it already has, which is really pathetic. Wake up people, you are being manipulated.
Now I am really putting myself out on a limb, but I think we need a few “Birthers” and “Truthers” in office to balance out the establishment status quo officials running things right now.
I for one am tired of everything in every investigation of any momentous event in our history to have “top secret” stamped all over it with the excuse that it would just be too frightening for the American people to hear the truth. I am tired of the investigators not asking the hard questions because they just finished playing golf with the person they are questioning and after the hearing they will go out for a drink together. I for one think our country is in dire need of some fresh blood and fresh brains in the seat of power. And maybe some people who ask questions that the elite would prefer not to answer.
So, I for one say, keep asking those nutty questions. And, folks, don’t let the power brokers define for you who is legit and who is not. Take a chance; take a risk; that is, if you really want change.

UPDATE: I just watched Sarah Palin's interview from last night with Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly questions her about the tea party and the role of people like the Truthers and Birthers. Her response is similar to mine. Here's the video:
