For John McCain to have a memory lapse with names on Jay Leno's Tonight Show is inexcusable. The fact that he left Sarah Palin's name off his list of possible GOP front runners in 2012, draws even more attention to the subject. This in turn gives dirty fodder to the MSM. If it was McCain's intention to leave off Palin's name, then shame on him for doing this to the Governor who would have been second in command had MCain won the presidency. If McCain had a memory lapse, he should have recovered and given due credit to his former running mate. Errors such as this may get laughs from a television audience, but it does pose a danger of splitting the party, which is dangerous to the GOP as they try to gear up for elections in 2010 and 2012.
“McCain, who screwed up his campaign by not voting against the bailout, can’t mention Sarah’s name on Leno? It hurts the party and it makes him look bad by dissing her a third time,” one blogger wrote. “Maybe it’s a good thing he didn’t become president. His mushiness and fence sitting was quite disconcerting.” end quote~
