Obama supporters are having a difficult time these days. The
presidential race is getting tighter and polls show McCain ahead in
several key swing states. Unable to deal with the reality that Obama (Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi's Chosen One)
may actually lose in an election cycle where the incumbent Republican
President has one of the lowest, if not the lowest, approval rating in
US history they continue to bring up the race card, ie if you are not
supporting Obama it must be that you are racist. They wear blinders
trying hard to avoid the real evidence that their candidate is
unqualified to be POTUS by any standard of measurement. They ignore
the evidence of rampant voter fraud across the country, most
particularly in the caucus states, that continues to this day. They
ignore the lack of any record of legislative accomplishment and the
inability to demonstrate any "courage of decision" (all those "Present"
votes while in the Illinois Senate).
The nominees flip flopping on so many issues leads one to wonder what
will happen after the election. Can the candidate be trusted to keep
his word? Where is the evidence?
Trying to win votes, Obama is promising the electorate everything and anything? How can I discern that he can actually accomplish any of these things, much less figure out a way to pay for them, or that he won't flip flop again on important matters as he did so very easily when it came to his pledge to accept public financing for the general election campaign? How much of his very liberal agenda will he throw under the bus? There is a big difference between Obama's rhetoric and the reality when it comes to his criticism of McCain's position on the equal pay for equal work issue. Obama employs far fewer female staffers than does McCain. They are paid on average 83 cents for every dollar paid to their male counterparts versus John McCain who employs more females in positions of responsibility and pays them almost equally. The female staffers actually earn a very tiny bit more than the male staffers. Actions speak louder than words. My grandmother used to tell me that.
Another thing my grandmother used to say to me was "You are judged by the company you keep." Look closely at some of the folks Obama has associated with. Reverend Jeremiah Wright of "God Damn America" and "America's chickens coming home to roost!" fame was a long-time friend, almost like an uncle you might say, and spiritual mentor to Barack Obama. Nice company, eh?
Terrorist Bill Ayers is not to Obama just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood." After closely scrutinizing the Chicago Annenberg Challenge archives which are housed at the University of Illinois at Chicago Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center has an op-ed published in yesterday's Wall Street Journal which clearly outlines that this characterization of the relationship is an outright falsehood. The two participated closely in projects, co-chairing boards together determined how the $100million grant they received would be disbursed. Some of the grant money was given to ACORN, of voter fraud fame.
Slumlord Tony Rezko,convicted (so far) on 16 counts of corruption was a long time political patron of the candidate and was a big help to the Obama family when it came time for them to purchase their Chicago mansion.
Penny Pritzker, presently Barack Obama's Campaign Finance Chair and potentially a candidate for Treasury Secretary in any Obama administration, is a billionaire Hyatt Hotel heir and a former part owner of the Superior Bank of Chicago. Superior Bank was seized by the government when it failed due in large part to its risky sub prime mortgage business. At the time of the seizure it was determined that the Pritzker family owed almost a half billion dollars to the Federal Government and a fifteen year repayment period deal was negotiated. Ms. Pritzker was a member of the board of Superior bank from 1991 up until its failure in 2001. Yes, we are judged by the company we keep and Barack Obama has exhibited an appalling lack of good judgement when it comes to the company he keeps. Will his judgement be any different should his place of residence be changed from Chicago to Washington? Where is the evidence?
These are only a few of the problems I have with Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama. Where I trust Hillary Clinton still to keep close to her heart the issues of most concern to middle class americans, I feel the opposite when I think of Barack Obama as Potus. I just have no confidence that he is ready to lead this country.
The decision to back the Republican ticket was not taken lightly, and did not come easy. But in absence of my chosen candidate (and the best candidate) Hillary Clinton , I felt I needed to take a closer look at John McCain. And while I do not agree with him on many of the issues, I trust him more. He has demonstrated a willingness to reach across the aisle in the best interests of the country. I believe that as President he will be even more amiable to including ideas and implementing solutions based on what is best for the country rather than for the benefit of a particular political party's agenda. John McCain is READY to LEAD
starting on Day 1. There is no learning curve necessary.
