As Obama was making his way to Washington via the rail tracks, he sent a message out to his supporters announcing his new group called: "Organizing for America." It is Obama's tech savvy method to keep his supporters organized on a national level. His supporters will continue to receive messages to make calls etc. to their legislators for anything deemed necessary to ensure Obama's agenda is enforced. Brilliant move, and it is celebrated by Obama supporters as noted in this statement taken from an Obama blogger:
As you know Obama started as a community organizer but was mocked by some, but they soon found out a community organizer is someone that organizes the community to send the likes of McCain and Palin back to their community.
What Barack has simply brought street level community organizing to the net, it's very dynamic and powerful as some will find out soon. Over the course of the campaign he has reached out and assembled about 20 million or more e-mail addresses and untold millions of cell phone numbers for text messaging and by organizing on the web including his own website, YouTube, Facebook, My Space, etc. The elected official that opposes affordable health care for all Americans and public works programs may have their phone ringing off the hook in a few days. They are going to face something they never faced before. from Gather. end Quote
For those who didn't vote for Obama (many democrats, republicans, and Independents as well) now is the time to organize. Yet, we continue to see the splintering off of conservative groups who wish not to be identified with the Republican party because they are "compromising" with those who tend more towards the center. It is understandable no one wants to compromise their beliefs, but there still has to be a unification of groups if there is any serious hope of winning against Obama in 2012. To be goal-oriented is necessary. If the goal is to not see Obama win re-election, then people must unite for that one purpose.
To alienate well-intentioned organizations because one disagrees on some issues is not going to win any election...TRedwine
