"No" Ad Accuses Republicans of Following Rush Limbaugh's Cues

There's a liberal add popping up that says Republican leadership in Congress is following Rush Limbaugh.

Around noon the RNC had this response: “The Democrats are running a permanent campaign rather than doing the bipartisan work of governing," Republican National Committee spokesman Alex Conant said in an e-mail to CNN. "These ads are part of the Democrats’ larger strategy to do something, anything to try to take the focus of their massive spending binge," Conant added.

CNN reports the ad, “No,” is paid for by Americans United for Change and AFSCME, two groups that supported Obama during the general election and who are advocating for his agenda now that he’s in the Oval Office. end quote.

The ad,"No", starts with a picture of a foreclosure sign and a still of Obama signing (supposedly) the Stimulus Bill.  The goal of the ad is to frame all republicans as being against the Stimulus Bill, even the parts they entirely agree with. The viewer is suppose to come away feeling as though republicans have no good intentions and could care less if there are home foreclosures. In any event, it appears that Obama is still running for President.

Here is the lib ad, and it is insulting that they think the average citizen would believe it. Many will say 

They thought the election was over.

Rockets Fired At Israel Again This morning

Since the end of January, over 100 rockets have been fired by Palestinian militants into southern Israel. Both sides declared a separate cease-fire. Much of the reaction from the media was aimed negatively at Israel for reacting "too strongly".

If anyone is keeping track of strikes into Israel, let's add two more for Saturday morning into Ashkelon. That makes 5 altogether since Friday.

The Gaza War last January was an invasion by Israel into Gaza to prevent future rocket attacks into southern Israel by Hamas. The attacks on Friday injured 18 Israelis and as a consequence the Israeli's are being forced to keep the crossings into Gaza blocked for security reasons. This causes needed supplies to be cut-off into Gaza.

Israel believes the attacks were provoked when Israeli troops discovered and destroyed a tunnel being dug from Palestine toward Israel. The army feared this was an attempt to capture soldiers for bargaining chips by Hamas.

Israel has been under pressure world-wide to open the routes into Gaza. With Hamas in control, the issues will remain, they have no intentions of honoring any truce.

Vatican: Holocaust Denying Bishop Must Apologize and Recant Falsehoods

We discussed on this blog the pathetic 'apology" Bishop Richard Williamson gave to the Jewish people and the Pope for his inexcusable denial of the Holocaust. The excommunicated bishop apologized for any hurt feelings he caused, but would not recant his dangerous lies.

Any knowledgeable person accepts the historical facts and tragedy concerning Nazi genocide. Bishop Williamson was originally excommunicated for not following the edicts of Vatican 2, but Pope Benedict wished to incorporate the excommunicated clergy back into the Church.  At the time this occurred,Pope Benedict was not aware of these outrageous statements made by Williamson. Bishop Williamson had stated on a Swedish program that he did not believe 6 million Jews had been exterminated, and that none had died in the gas chambers.

Williamson recently said he was giving his interview statement based on '20 year old evidence". That is a jack-ass statement by any standards. Perhaps, Eisenhower,if alive today, would have wished that Williamson had been able to make these death camp tours with him.

As for evidence, General Dwight D. Eisenhower liberated the Jewish death camps. The following letter sums the experience well:

The first camp, Ohrdruf, was overrun. The term "overrun" is used because G.I.s did not liberate in the sense that a firefight occurred; the Americans wandered upon the camps without design.

It should also be noted that General Eisenhower insisted that as many photos be made for historical purposes. Eisenhower knew that what they were witnessing was so indescribable, that only photographs could really document the grizzly horror that Allied Forces witnessed. We should note as well that this was longer than 20 years ago. An educated bishop should be embarrassed and humiliated for making such a damaging statement. One would hope he was not trying to stir anti-Semitic feelings in a world so susceptible to this disgusting bigotry.

April 10, 1945 - The Nazi concentration camp at Buchenwald was liberated by U.S. troops. Located near Weimar in Germany, Buchenwald was established in July of 1937 to hold criminals and was one of the first major concentration camps. It later included Jews and homosexuals and was used as a slave labor center for nearby German companies. Of a total of 238,980 Buchenwald inmates, 56,545 perished. Following its liberation, Supreme Allied Commander, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, and other top U.S. commanders visited the subcamp at Ohrdruf. U.S. Troops also forced German civilians from nearby towns into the camp to view the carnage.

Mississippi Blue Dog Blasts Obama's Budget

Mississippi Democratic Rep. Gene Taylor blasted the budget outline President Obama submitted to Capitol Hill today, saying “I don’t like it…change is not running up even bigger deficits that George Bush did.”   Taylor did not vote for Obama's Stimulus Bill either.

Obama announced on Monday that he would soon ask Congress to return to a pay-as-you-go. Note this is after we spend billions with no cap. That announcement is like eating two helpings of strawberry short-cake and announcing you are immediately going on a diet.

With this kind of spending by Democrats, and Obama's promise to cut the deficit in half, how does the math add up without taxing the devil out of every citizen?

Donald Lambro at Townhall referred to the Blue Dogs who voted for the Stimulus Bill as "tooth-less". Lambro wrote: "The House's Blue Dog Democrats like to pretend they are the deficit tigers of Congress, determined to stop runaway spending and stamp out waste and fraud."

The handful of the House's Blue Dog Democrats who switched their votes from "no" to "yes" on the huge economic stimulus are working overtime this week in their conservative-leaning districts to explain the change of heart.

Look for these Democrats to try and draw political attention away from their spending by boasting about cutting the deficit in half and pay-as-you-go...the straw-berry shortcake diet.

Jindal Keeps Principles;Obama Makes Promises

So Jindal didn't impress most people with his oratorial skills, yet his words are practical. If the massive Stimulus didn't present such consequences for our future, then there would be no criticism. 

Alexander Mooney at CNN reported: "While the president had the benefit of the ornate halls of Congress as his setting and numerous camera angles to give a sweeping view of the grand House Gallery, Jindal had to deliver his speech in a solitary room amid an almost deafening silence".

Baton Rouge, La. "Old Governor's Mansion"

When Jindal appeared on "Meet the Press" last Sunday he had this to say: "The $100 million we turned down was temporary federal dollars that would require us to change our unemployment laws. That would’ve actually raised taxes on Louisiana businesses. We as a state would’ve been responsible for paying for those benefits after the federal money disappeared."

Bobby Jindal went on to add: "So many of these things that are called temporary programs end up being permanent government programs. But this one’s crystal clear, black and white letter law. The federal stimulus bill says it has to be a permanent change in state law if you take this state money. And so within three years the federal money’s gone, we’ve got now a permanent change in our laws, we have to pay for it, our businesses pay for it. I don’t think it makes sense to be raising taxes on Louisiana businesses during these economically challenging times."

Another governor who feels the same way is Haley Barbour (Ms) who said that in his state if you lose your job you receive unemployment until you get another job. Yet, you have to actually search and accept a job if ordered. Barbour also pointed out that with the Stimulus Money,"according to the advocates for the bill, would let Mississippi have $54 million of additional money for unemployment. The only problem is, when you read the details, we get $3.9 million of that for what we do now. And to get the other $50 million, we have to expand unemployment to let people collect unemployment that have never been eligible in our — in our state, including people who aren’t willing to take a full-time job. 

The Governors against the Stimulus are simply saying they will review what it means if they accept the money. For after the Stimulus money is gone, states will be forced to live by the rules, and be permanently obligated to keep paying benefits indefinitely. Some politicians are willing to benefit from temporay political gains with the money.

It all comes down to if you believe Big Government is the answer. Do you want the likes of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd in charge of your money? Big Government promises a lot, but never delivers. Populist issues that Obama used last night get a 'hurrah' from most everyone. Most of us believe it is good to turn off the t.v. and read to our children, but the argument is over Big Spending.

Bobby Jindal Calls Stimulus Plan "irresponsible"

Bobby Jindal, Governor of Louisiana, addressed Americans tonight in response to Obama's speech to the Joint House of Congress.  His views were summed up with this quote:  "Who among us would ask our children for a loan, so we could spend money we do not have, on things we do not need? That is precisely what the Democrats in Congress just did. It's irresponsible."

Jindal made history when he was elected the first Indian- American governor, and at 36 he is also the youngest. Jindal won't say so, but it is an open secret in La. that he plans to run for president in 2012.  He is also on Michael Steele's list as representative of a new generation of republicans.

Jindal also made reference to his parents with this anecdote from his past, ..."As I grew up, my mom and dad taught me the values that attracted them to this country and they instilled in me an immigrant's wonder at the greatness of America. As a child, I remember going to the grocery store with my dad. Growing up in India, he had seen extreme poverty. And as we walked through the aisles, looking at the endless variety on the shelves, he would tell me: 'Bobby, Americans can do anything.' I still believe that to this day".

Bobby Jindal made it very clear that those things the President requests which are responsible and of merit should receive the help and support of all Americans.

Jindal is well-known for his competent handling of the latest emergency response to Hurricane Gustav, and his work on children's health-care in la.

This speech was considered a prime opportunity for Bobby Jindal to re-introduce himself to the American public on national television with a speech that is the republican response to Obama's address. Normally, this speech is reserved for high ranking senate members.

As the Chicago Sun-Times so aptly phrased it in their headlines: No Southern Comfort for Obama Backers.

Jindal spoke for many in objecting to the largest give-a-way in U.S. history.

Clinton to go to Israel with a Pledge of $900 Million for Gaza

How can we be sure the money going to Gaza won't be used for Hamas? There is no way we can be for sure!  After-all, this money is to be spent rebuilding the Palestinian Authority. So the money gets funneled through non-governmental organizations. Perhaps it will be similar to how ACORN will ending up getting money from infrastructure projects in the Stimulus Plan. Let's hope Obama and Clinton really do know where the money is going. I have my doubts.

Fox News reports that the money planned by the Obama Administration for Palestine will exceed $900 million. Their source says this is not official because it has not been approved,and the final amount has not been determined.

Clinton's request for funds will be announced in Egypt next week at a donor conference hosted by Egypt's Shram el-Sheikh. Then expect an uphill battle in Congress.

Reuters reports the following: Part of the goal of the new funding is to boost the Palestinian Authority of President Mahmoud Abbas, which controls the occupied West Bank.

The United States wants Abbas's PA to play a central role in the reconstruction effort in Gaza, hoping this will increase its influence in the Hamas stronghold. Washington is also putting pressure on other donors to bolster Abbas. End Quote

For now, with all the issues at stake, giving the money to the U.N. will cause us to knowingly lose control of the money and how it is "funneled".

Clinton's Prophetic Words for Obama

Remember Hillary Clinton saying this about Obama? "The sky will open. The lights will come down. Celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect!"  Alexander Mooney did an analysis on CNN of Obama's grade for bipartisanship and points to these words from Hillary Clinton as being prophetic. 

 When Obama was attacking Hillary for being part of the 'same 'ole Washington scene  he was maintaining that he was "change"  and that he would bring bi-partisanship to Washington. Yet, when Obama gave the responsibility of  writing the House version of the Stimulus to Pelosi, hope of bi-partisanship took a nose-dive with "we won" and noticeable lack of any initial republican input on the bill.

So with tonight's joint address to both Houses, there will be further evidence of Obama's failure to bring together the great ideological divide in this nation, for Obama will do a lot of finger-pointing when it comes to reporting on the "health" of the Nation.

 Mooney also states in his analysis a comparsion of Bill Clinton's theme of less government, and Obama's proclamation of a healthy return to "Big Government".  Here we see the divide, the same 'ole Washington, and more of a similarity between Bush and Obama.

So the question remains: Is Obama simply naive in working with Washington? Probably so as Hillary Clinton pointed out not too long ago. It is a matter of experience dealing with the harsh realities of Washington.  Clinton knew it was a city that reflected a country with a political culture and media that seem to emotionally and financially thrive on demonization, controversy and polarization.

 

Hillary Clinton Went to China for Hand-Out

Depending on how it is phrased, the result is the same,Clinton was in China to beg for a hand-out according to  Andrews Report  on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.  Andrews had this to say, "The truth is the Administration needs China's help. America's stimulus is very expensive and the U.S. wants China to help finance it," Andrews reported. This is what America has become-a country that sends its Secretary of State abroad to beg for money from foreigners. In this case, it's a communist dictatorship that forces women to have abortions, tortures Christians, and threatens the freedom and democratic government of Taiwan."  I find it amazing that Wyatt Andrews was even able to report that on CBS.

America has had a pro-China policy for several administrations, and today the Chinese have the upper-hand.  With this comes our having to "compromise" on issues such as "human rights" etc.

There is a price for everything, and several activist groups noted it this week when Hillary had to minimize the subject of human rights. For many, the realization that Communist-China owns the debt of the U.S. is terrifying.

At Right Side News  Cliff Kincaid has this posted:We were already in terrible shape under the Bush Administration because of a mysterious financial collapse apparently caused by illegal manipulation of our markets, but now the communists have us completely over a barrel because the Obama Administration, with the acquiescence of Congress, recklessly decided to spend even more money that we don't have. Under the circumstances, this is criminal negligence." end quote.  Kincaid also congratulates Clinton for being brutally honest.

Clinton often talked of the need to deal with Asia while campaigning for the presidency. The fact that Secretary of States usually make Europe and the Middle East the first priority reveals our increasing dependence on China. 

China was nervous about receiving Hillary Clinton not knowing how far the Secretary would go on the human right's issues. Hillary Clinton made a point to assuage their fears by minimizing the subject and saying 'the U.S. looked forward to dealing with China on global warming and economic issues'. This caused enormous criticism for Clinton.

Obviously, the tide has turned, America has lost clout in the area of human rights. We are a debtor nation about to go in to more debt to our creditor,China. With that comes many  regretful compromises a civilized nation should not have to make.

Hillary Clinton must have thought about Eleanor Roosevelt and Human Rights at some point on her journey.

NAACP Needs to "Chill Out"

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Leaders of the NAACP on Saturday called for the firing of the New York Post cartoonist whose drawing lampooning the federal stimulus bill has drawn charges that it's racist and encourages violence toward President Obama. 

The NAACP needs to chill out. When I first heard the complaint, I thought of all the cartoons (and there are enough to paper a trail to the moon and back) of George Bush as a monkey. The one pictured above is pretty direct.  But I would say most members of the NAACP would see absolutely nothing wrong with this.

The NAACP has made strides, but now serves no purpose unless it stirs controversy.  Aren't there other groups they could help?  How about speaking up for women concerning Jon Favreau?  I thought Obama would have fired this sexist by now. Perhaps they could help out other groups with social issues in the United State? How about the high incidence of black women being battered at home?

It seems there is a concerted effort this week on the part of Eric Holder,James Clyburn, and Mr.Jealous to stir-up racial tension. Is this an attempt to quiet the furor over the Stimulus bill?  After all, threatening politicians, and newspapers with the term "racist" has worked in the past, but it just doesn't work as well with citizens who are not "cowards", and who are not in the mood to be labeled "racist" after putting up with an onslaught of name-calling for 2 years from Obama and his supporters.

In fact, the ploy of the NAACP may work on FOX and the New York Post, but the "whine" will be considered a vexation by many Americans.

No doubt it is a serious issue throughout the world. As stated earlier, this is a sickening phenomena that never goes away, but only goes underground.

Senator Clyburn Insinuating Republican Governors "Racist"

Yesterday, we have Eric Holder declaring how Americans are cowardly in their discussions on race, and now we have to listen to (D)Senator Clyburn, S.C., refer to the governors opposing the Stimulus Bill as 'not caring about African Americans'....does that mean "racist"?

So it seems the name-calling hasn't stopped if you disagree with Obama and House democrats...on anything.

"Right Pundits" reports Jim Clyburn put a provision in the $787 billion dollar

stimulus package, that state legislatures could accept the money even if their governors chose not to. That is exactly what the governors of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and South Carolina said they wouldn’t do." end quote

CNN said today that Clyburn did not use the word "racists" about republicans, but still defended his "slap-in-the-face" remark about the southern governors who originally were refusing to take the Stimulus money...what Clyburn refers to as "the Black-Belt".  

Gov. Mark Sanford of S.C. remains on the fence about accepting any government money, while Jindal and Barbor are still maintaining they won't accept the money.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution accused a conservative group of bringing Jesus into the Stimulus plan, but when reviewing the video the newspaper refers to, it is quite obvious that the video is simply using the birth date of Jesus as a time reference only.

Republicans Say Obama's First Month "Disappointing"

It is one month since President Obama was sworn in, and the RNC specifically ranks Obama's administration in the first 30 days a disappointment for these reasons:

1) wasteful spending

2) failed bipartisanship

3) questionable ethics

Michael Steele: "The New Cool" tells Critics "stuff it"

Michael Steele, the new GOP Chairman, will do just what Meghan McCain thinks the Republicans need to do and that is to get "tech savvy".

Steele was a smart choice for many reasons: Steele is by far the greatest communicator in the party, and those who have watched him on Fox so many times, know just how good Steele is on television. Steele has no problems relating to Catholics either. In fact, Steele was at one time a seminarian in the order of St.Augustine.  Many Americans will be able to identify with Steele and his values, and by the time he finishes reaching out to the "hip hop" world, Steele will probably have defined the new meaning of GOP. So look for to Steele to take the best of the republican party and blend it with a new image that is "off the hook" as he likes to call it.

Steele made a interesting comment to The Washington Times" that there was one group of Americans he was going to pay more attention, and that is "the moms of all shapes."

Most will agree that the Republican Party needs a major over-haul in the image it projects, and if anyone is up to the job, it seems to be the new chairman. So to all the critics of Michael Steele, he proclaims this message: "stuff it".

Eric Holder Calls Americans "Cowards" for not Discussing Race Issues

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Eric Holder, the country’s first African-American attorney general, called the United States “a nation of cowards” Wednesday for failing to candidly talk about matters of race...end quote

It seems that more than 45% of Americans were called "racists" this past election year. Shall we list the names in old,boring order for the Attorney General Eric Holder?  Perhaps Axelrod and a few other Obama supporters can add to the never-ending list of bigots. Let's see,hmm, Geraldine Ferraro, Bill Clinton, and same-o, you name it! 

 Holder, with all respect,Sir, almost half of America was classified as racist while President Obama was in the midst of a heated primary with Hillary Clinton, and then McCain-Palin.

AP had this to say: "The nation's first black attorney general, Holder said the American workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives..." end quote.

                                                                                                                                                   

MSNBC quoted Holder as saying:  "average Americans"simply do not talk enough with each other about race." .....Ok, Holder, what is an "average American"? Is an average American a city or rural dweller? Do they go to church or synagogue? It certainly can't be the "elite"!   

Eric Holder may point out as many heroic truisms as he wishes,but Obama helped this racial divide go even further underground by referring to 'bitter rural (white) people who cling to their guns'. Though that was pointed at Hillary Clinton and her supporters, it caused such a path of political expediency for Barack Obama, that it was slick enough to carry over and use to verbally insult all of John McCain and Sarah Palin's supporters.  

The ball is in your and Obama's court to "heal" the issues, Mr.Holder.  For starters, let's see how long the MSM and Obama court of supporters can go without referring to republicans, independents, and disenfranchised democrats as racists...TRedwine

Britain Admits Increase of Anti-Semitic Acts

CNN reports that the Uk is reporting heightened ant-Semitic attacks.  Hate crimes of this sort have been recorded in Britain since 1984, and the numbers are significantly increased, London's Metropolitan Police "report that since December, there have been four times as many anti-Semitic attacks as attacks on Muslims, even though there are seven or eight times the number of British Muslims as there are Jews," said British lawmaker Denis MacShane, who chaired the country's first parliamentary inquiry into anti-Semitic behavior.

The two day London conference will have lawmakers meeting with legal experts, and specialists to discover ways in which governments can fight global anti-Semitism. 

 Britain is not alone on this problem, but with the high number of British Muslims, it signals a global concern for democracy due to the ideology behind anti-Semitism.

Lord Malloch-Brown, Foreign Office Minister, says little has been done to eradicate the growing anti-Semitic behavior in Britain.  The Telegraph reports that the minister said," that political debate over Israel's military tactics should not lead to the "insidious" view that "whole races or nations are mysteriously evil".

The Community Security Trust, a non-governmental group which monitors anti-Semitic attacks in Britain, said that over 200 cases of hate acts towards Jews were recorded in January alone.  This is the biggest increase in the number of recorded attacks since the group started keeping records in 1984.

Anti-Semitism never died after the Holocaust.....It went to the underground. It was not "politically correct" until it started to creep back into European society...a deadly, nasty crawl of hate and violent acts.  The recent war in Gaza has allowed an opening for neo-Nazi's and far-left groups(even in America) to voice anti-Semitic feelings. 

With the exception of The Telegraph, it seems that Britain has trouble with her media as does the U.S. The British media tends to white-wash Muslim crimes and hate acts.

France Deported 77,000 Jews, Most to Auschwitz

The highest court in France ruled today that France was responsible for having deported 77,000 Jews in France from 1942 until 1944. However, the court also ruled that France had made amends.  Could they ever?  This is a subject that remained taboo in France until forced to face the shame by the court ruling.

Northern France was governed by the Nazi army while Southern France had a Vichy government approved by the Germans.  Maurice Papon was convicted in 1998 of collaborating with the Vichy government in rounding up 1590 Jewish people in Bordeaux. Jews were dragged from their homes and hiding places. There was no sanctuary to be found. Jews who had been recently operated on were taken alongside other patients most of whom ended up in Auschwitz. Children over 3 were separated from their parents. There are few records since many young ones did not know their full names. Other children were left to survive in the streets while neighbors were threatened to not care for them.

According to a genealogical sight,the numbers are much more staggering than reported in the news services:

• 85,000 people deported as an effect of the nazi repression : resistants, political opponents, hostages or victims of reprisals (figures known in 1999). Among these, 40 % did not come back, i.e. about 34,000 persons.

• 76,000 people deported (including 11,000 children) as an effect of the antisemitic persecutions. Among these, 97 % did not come back, i.e. about 74,000 persons.

The total number of persons who did not come back from deportation is thus about 108,000. .

Obama: Big Promise Broken to Small Business

There is little to be said for the benefits small business will receive from the $787 billion stimulus plan. This segment of the business sector employs more than half of the U.S. workforce. So what happened to the big campaign promise Obama made to business? “The small businessman who looks to rely on the government for help is the one who isn’t going to make it out of the recession,” said Howard Anderson, a professor of entrepreneurship at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. 

While the big banks and automakers squeeze tax dollars from the American citizen,small businesses can't even get a conventional loan. So far, any effort to loosen credit for small business and to stimulate the economy has been a failure. Will it change with the second go around with banks? 

David Halperin of the Atlanta Journal Constitution,is completely optimistic with the new stimulus bill. Halperin wrote "For business owners, the bill would offer relief by increasing the carry-back period for net operating losses. In a typical year, a reasonable percentage of small businesses experience a loss, but in challenging economic times such as these, there are estimates that perhaps as many as half of all businesses could experience a loss." Halperin goes on to mention the inclusion of small business expensing in the stimulus plan and bonus depreciation. 

So what about credit? What business can survive without it? Obama's original promise to cancel the capital gains tax for small business was the cornerstone on his campaign Web site under "Small Business Emergency Rescue Plan." A few weeks before the election, advisers Austan Goolsbee and Jason Furman touted their boss's pro-growth credentials by noting in this newspaper that "he is proposing additional tax cuts" that included "the elimination of capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups." 

The problem and end result: Obama compromised with the House Democrats. This is the same issue Bush faced with his congress: an inability to stand-up to your own party. 

Obama and America Make a Sharp Left Turn for Socialism

"Culture War" blasted upon the American consciousness in 1992 at the Republican National Convention.  Pat Buchanan made an address to the GOP, and defined this relatively new phrase as a "war for the nation's soul".  That year notes the time our nation recognized it was fighting something from within- secularism, and the final result threatened to be Socialism.

Seventeen years later, we see an America with significant social change, and a drastically weakened economy. Our status of creditor nation has been delivered to China. Now, there are major signs of socialism in our politics and media. Consider this quote from U.S. Rep. Bob Latta of  Ohio when asked by the Toledo Blade if America could consider itself a socialist country:

"We might not be quite there yet, but when magazines are talking about socialism, I think it's time for Americans to look at the Constitution and say, 'Is this what we were handed by our forefathers in September of 1787?' and I think not," Mr. Latta said. "I think America is a much better country than what we're doing now." 

What our forefathers fought for was freedom, but that included personal responsibility. Yes, this inherited freedoms includes free speech, but at some point, it too can cross the line of responsible behavior. All freedom has a price, and that is holding all of us accountable. This ideology doesn't appeal to a people who wish for a "big brother " for it entails a relinquishing of any personal freedom while the citizen is cared for by the state.

Freedom of religion  comes to mind, but the price to practice this freedom is to respect the religion of others, and it can not be a religion that wishes to see the destruction of another people and their beliefs!

When Obama came into the national spotlight a few years ago, those who played into the Obama "Hope and Change" were those who see government as a caretaker. No need to think, we will do it for you! That is why when one questioned an Obama supporter with what Obama planned to change, the hypnotic response came back as 'I don't know, he is going to change things'.

Some of us know the price for government caretaking. The child-like need being expressed by this mentality is now manifested in the so called Stimulus Bill. 

Unfortunately, we are just beginning the journey to grasp what it will require, what that price will be, and will it keep requiring more money from each American citizen, formerly known as a capitalist consumer.

According to Mitch McConnell, Senate  Minority Leader, 'if we had spent a million dollars a day from the birth of Jesus, then we would have spent less than the proposed stimulus package.'

When Obama made his weekly radio and Internet address, he said, "I will sign this legislation into law shortly, and we'll begin making the immediate investments necessary to put people back to work doing the work America needs done."

Obama also uses  futuristic words that reveal the heavy price for this stimulus bill  which bloats our government even more with  this recent statement: "This historic step won't be the end of what we do to turn our economy around, but rather the beginning. The problems that led us into this crisis are deep and widespread, and our response must be equal to the task."

CNN has a general summary of Obama's Stimulus Bill.  I can't help but think,along with many others,that our country will not be the same for a very long time in that those programs "slipped in" during committee work will haunt us over and over. The spending programs and the side effects will be slowly and painfully revealed to America...TRedwine

Winners

High-speed and inner-city rail: Went from $300 million in House bill to $2.25 billion in Senate to $8 billion in final version. There also is a $6.9 billion provision for public transit.

Amtrak: Picked up $500 million from both House and Senate versions to total $1.3 billion. The bill stipulates that no more than 60 percent can go to the Northeast Corridor.

National Institutes of Health: Ends up with $10 billion in the final bill. The House proposed $3.5 billion and the Senate wanted $10 billion -- $8.2 billion goes to the NIH director for his discretion.

Government oversight: Board to oversee stimulus bill spending will get $84 million to do the job. House bill allocated $14 million while the Senate bill called for $7 million. There is also more than $100 million more for various inspectors general in different agencies.

Hillary Clinton's First Warning to North Korea

As Hillary Clinton prepares to depart for the Far East, she sent a no- nonsense warning to North Korea saying today that it "was incumbent on North Korea to avoid any provocative action and unhelpful rhetoric towards South Korea".

 

When Hillary was running as a presidential candidate, Asia was a subject she brought up often on the campaign trail. Her message was that it was critical that the United States give top priority to dealing with Asia, and that China should be the prime focus.

The Secretary of State has also stated that it was very likely that the subject of human rights and Tibet would enter as a discussion point during the talks with China.

The subject of human rights and China remains "the elephant in the room", and most recently Congressman Frank Wolf had criticized President Obama for not participating in a United Nations review regarding China's serious record of human rights abuse.

The Mice of San Francisco Sleep Soundly Tonight

With so many laughing today at Nancy Pelosi, we got to admit she asked for it this time. First we have reports of yelling (spirited debate) behind congressional closed doors. Next there are reports of Democratic infighting this week, and now word comes of there being a rift between the dreaded House duo of Pelosi-Reid.  

Understandably, there is a lot at stake in the Stimulus Bill, and that alone should lead to spirited debate. But the yelling came from members of the democratic party fighting as they clashed over reductions. 600,000 jobs were lost this week alone, and there are dire predictions of unemployment passing ten per-cent. So most Americans agree something needs to be done, and straight-away.

Obama made it a point during the first part of his speech on Monday night, to emphasize that there would be no pork in this bill. He said it...no pork.

Tell that to the harvest mice of San Francisco, whose famous advocate got a big slice of the cheese for the mice to the tune of 30 million from Uncle Sam. No wonder this is done behind closed doors!

The San Francisco Bay Area is the stomping ground of the House Speaker, and apparently she has been trying to get the money for some time to build up the marshlands. Admittedly, the little mouse is a small part of it...only 30 million.

Maybe those who have lost their jobs and the ones struggling to pay their mortgages will get their slice before too long. If a mouse can, certainly we can, or maybe we have to fit a certain profile.

To Nancy Pelosi's pet project we can say:

"Good-night, Sleep tight."

Bobby Jindal Getting the Spotlight Feb.24th

After we finish hearing Obama's address to the joint session of both Houses, American's who tune in after the Bam's speech will receive a pleasing breeze of non-Chicago common sense.

The Times-Picayune reports that Gov. Jindal is very honored to give the republican response which is always offered by networks to the opposing party after a President makes a speech during prime-time.

Bobby Jindal is a rising star and is famous for his reform styled manner of governing in Louisianna. 

In fact, Jindal stated when asked for a quote from the Picayune about his upcoming address: "Here in Louisiana, we have first-hand experience with reforming government and cutting taxes to stimulate our economy in uncertain times," he added. "This is a terrific opportunity to talk about our great state to the nation."

Bobby Jindal was recently named by Michael Steele as 'one of those to watch' among the new republican leaders in the upcoming years.

Bobby Jindal has already visited North Carolina,Kentucky,Iowa, and a few other states as he runs for re-election in his own home state.

Make no mistake about it, Jindal is posted and ready for his prime-time close-up.

You have to give Specter guts for going on Laura Ingraham's radio show, considering that Specter was one of the three Republicans to break party lines and give support for Obama's Stimulus Bill.

As we find out more and more about what we actually don't know about the Stimulus Bill, there is a push from the American taxpayer to have open hearings on this bill as it is hashed out in its final stages. It is frightening, because we do not know what our leaders have literally bought into.

(CNN) — MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, a former Republican congressman, is leaving open the possibility of running for outgoing Florida Sen. Mel Martinez's seat in 2010.

The host of "Morning Joe" told the Sarasota Herald Tribune he's been fielding calls from several Florida Republicans urging him to run. "I haven't closed it off," he told the paper in an article published Monday. "I've been getting some calls from some fundraisers in Florida."

American Taxpayers Do Not Want "this" Stimulus Bill

So, we might say, 'Where is the personal responsibility factor?  Better yet to see it go here to the citizens than to ACORN and other spending programs that have nothing to do with getting the economy jump-started.

Obama's attempt to frighten citizens more than they already are is a bullying-type method of pushing through these spending programs that have been on the democratic agenda for years. The Bam also said that he wanted the money for education put back into the bill.  It isn't that anyone is against education and other programs, it is that it doesn't play a part in a short-term stimulus.

Obama is out pushing his plan, and holds his first press conference tonight. With the help of three republicans the bill will probably pass in the senate on Tuesday. One these republicans is Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, who said: "I think no one could argue with the fact that the situation would be much worse without this bill." end quote 

Many, and in fact, most Americans disagree with the Obama Stimulus Plan.  There are other ways to stimulate the economy.  The problem is the agenda that Pelosi and her cohorts put into the original House Bill and which still remain in the senate version.

American taxpayers have made their opinion known on this bill, but that is all that can be done for now-until 2010....TRedwine
