The One replaces God in the USA

I’m not a religious person; I’m a spiritual person. I believe we are spiritual beings currently experiencing life as human beings.  I am interfaith; an interfaith Christian on the path of Bahkti yoga.  That’s how I currently describe my spiritual path.

If you’ve followed my weekend meditations, you’ll know that I honor the mystical traditions of all religions: Hindu, Christian, Islam, Buddhist, and Native Peoples.

I’ve always been open-minded.  If you choose not to believe in God, Spirit, a higher consciousness, or something other than your individualized self, that’s fine with me.  I won’t try to convert you or preach to you. I long ago realized that you can’t convince anyone of anything; you just have to live your life as an example and let others learn in their own time and place.

However, I do draw the line when it comes to people replacing God with a human being and that’s what seems to be happening with The One.

How many videos do we have to see of grade school children being taught to sing the praises of The One in schools where it is unlawful to celebrate any type of religious holiday, in particular if it is Christian, before we shout out and demand that this stop, now.

What the heck is wrong with parents?  They can’t say they didn’t know, when the performance was at a PTO meeting.  I guess they thought it was cute. Oh, I know, I’ve heard the excuse.  It was in February for President’s Day; hey, that’s supposed to be about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  At least, when I was a kid, that’s what we celebrated.  Two Presidents who were long dead and we got the day off…no singing the praises of these two for sure.  George was our first President and he couldn’t tell a lie and Abe preserved the Union and he was honest.  That’s all I remember.

I am thoroughly disgusted.  This is not ok.  Well, the adult community organizers can do whatever they want, as misguided as it is, but to indoctrinate young children is outrageous.

If we are all that desperate for someone or something to save us, why don't we just go back to God?  I don't get it.  We don't believe in God and therefore we cannot mention God in our schools or any other public place, but we can use a human being as a replacement and that is ok.  Where are the atheists when you need them?  Hey, I hope you atheists contact the ACLU and file a lawsuit banning the use of The One's name in public schools.  That  might be useful.

I watch and/or listen to Glenn Beck off and on and I think he has done a great job researching the current administration and teaching us about the interlocking relationships between all of The One’s radical friends and teachers.  Sometimes he seems almost a bit too much in all of his emoting, but that’s ok.  He’s a spiritual being having a human experience, and that can be difficult.

But, heck, I’m going to post this video from his show where he talks about God being missing in the USA these days. He makes some decent points.

 

Weekend Meditation: Sufi Poem “I know not who I am”

Sufism is the mystical arm of Islam.  A Sufi is one who does not separate himself from others by opinion or dogma; and who realizes the heart as the Shrine of God.

Bulleh Shah was a Sufi saint and poet who lived in Pakistan from 1680 to 1758. His poetry reflects a turbulent period in Punjab history and highlights his mystical spiritual journey. He is critical of those in power - intellectuals, academicians and religious authorities - who put obstacles in the way of the common people in discovering the love of God.

In this music video, the words of Bulleh Shah are put to music and the song probes questions that ponder many aspects of being. The repeating refrain is "I know not who I am" and it is the starting point for this open questioning of identity.

Yep, there are Death Panels in Baucus health care bill

While Joe, the gaffe, Biden goes around telling his mother and other seniors that there are no Death Panels in the health care bills currently under review, apparently, unbeknown to him (and there is a lot that seems to be unknown to Biden), the Baucus health care bill does contain a provision that will inevitably lead to deaths of older Americans

The Washington Times has an editorial talking about the new death panel provision added to the Baucus health care bill.  This is in addition to the already existing panel of bureaucrats who will decide who will get treated and who won’t. 

The offending provision is on Pages 80-81 of the unamended Baucus bill, hidden amid a lot of similar legislative mumbo-jumbo about Medicare payments to doctors. The key sentence: "Beginning in 2015, payment would be reduced by five percent if an aggregation of the physician's resource use is at or above the 90th percentile of national utilization." Translated into plain English, it means that in any year in which a particular doctor's average per-patient Medicare costs are in the top 10 percent in the nation, the feds will cut the doctor's payments by 5 percent.

Forget results. This provision makes no account for the results of care, its quality or even its efficiency. It just says that if a doctor authorizes expensive care, no matter how successfully, the government will punish him by scrimping on what already is a low reimbursement rate for treating Medicare patients. The incentive, therefore, is for the doctor always to provide less care for his patients for fear of having his payments docked. And because no doctor will know who falls in the top 10 percent until year's end, or what total average costs will break the 10 percent threshold, the pressure will be intense to withhold care, and withhold care again, and then withhold it some more. Or at least to prescribe cheaper care, no matter how much less effective, in order to avoid the penalties.

The National Right to Life Committee concludes that this provision will cause a "death spiral" by "ensur[ing] that doctors are forced to ration care for their senior citizen patients." Every 10th doctor in the country will fall victim to it. Libertarian columnist Nat Hentoff calls the provision "insidious" and writes that "the nature of our final exit" will be very much at risk.

Now, I cannot believe that the current illustrious leaders of our country, along with the mainstream media, are so simplistic that they think there are no death panels in the health care bill because nowhere can you find the exact term Death Panel. 

Let’s see, that would be like saying there was never an iron curtain because there was not actually a curtain made of iron hanging down in Eastern Europe.  Ridiculous! Iron Curtain? Show me where it is hanging.  Also, there is no such thing as a banana republic because there is no sign down there in Venezuela or Nicaragua or any of those former, or is it current, banana republics that announce that you are now entering a banana republic.  And hey, what’s a baby boomer?  I don’t see anyone with a sign around their neck or with a birth certificate announcing they are a baby boomer.

No, I would call it selective blindness. 

I hope Mrs. Joe Biden’s Mother continues to ask tough questions of her son about health care for seniors.  I hope she pulls out the Baucus bill and asks him about this new provision that will force doctors to cut their services to seniors like herself.  Don’t let him off the hook, mom!

ACON or ACORN? Laugh before reading about the NEA scandal

A good yuk from Jay Leno.  I thought it might be nice to laugh a bit before moving on to the next HUGE White House scandal.

Here’s a tidbit, just to wet your appetite for more political manipulation by The One. (Just in case you didn’t know, your tax dollars are funding the NEA).

On August 10th, the National Endowment for the Arts, the White House Office of Public Engagement, and the Corporation for National and Community Service hosted a conference call with a handpicked arts group. This arts group played a key role in Obama’s arts effort during his election campaign, as declared by the organizers of the call, and many on the call played a role in the now famous Obama Hope poster.
Much of the talk on the conference call was a build up to what the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) was specifically asking of this group. In the following segment, Buffy Wicks, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, clearly identifies this arts group as a pro-Obama collective and warns them of some “specific asks” that will be delivered later in the meeting.

“I just first of all want to thank everyone for being on the call and just a deep deep appreciation for all the work you all put into the campaign for the 2+ years we all worked together.”

“We won.”

“I’m actually in the White House and working towards furthering this agenda, this very aggressive agenda.”

“We’re going to come at you with some specific asks here.”

“I hope you guys are ready.”

Later, Buffy says, "We're actually running the government."

Later in the call, “specific asks” were delivered by Yosi Sergant, then Communications Director of the National Endowment for the Arts. What were the “asks”? They were for this pro-Obama arts group to create art on several hotly debated political issues, including health care.

Things are moving really fast; how fast can The One take over the world?  He sure is trying.

I am completely confused about what our former presidents did all day.  They weren’t running around giving interviews, attending rallies, and speaking on TV everyday. So what the heck was going on back at the White House? Napping? Drinks at five? Afternoon soirées with the wife? 

Hey, Jimmy C, maybe you could fill us in; you seem to have a habit of shooting off your mouth. What were you doing all day back in your White House years? You know, that job that provided you with a lifetime income so that you have all this time to say nasty things about the American people.

 

Weekend Meditation: We Are The World

I think this song and video are a fitting ending for this week; a week of very hot, divisive rhetoric.  Well, way back when, Michael Jackson and friends got together to raise money for famine relief in Africa.

There was no finger pointing, no blaming, no accusations, and no divisiveness; just a bunch of country rednecks, wild rock ‘roll guys and gals, and soul brother/sisters vocalizing together for a common purpose.

Enjoy the love that emanates. And remember, we are all One in Spirit.

Army Captain challenges deployment; questions Obama’s eligibility

Attorney Orly Taitz had another day in court on Monday. She is representing a Fort Benning soldier who is challenging the lawfulness of her orders to deploy to Iraq because she wants clarification on Obama’s birth certificate.

Captain Connie Rhodes, a medical doctor, will have to wait one more day before hearing the judge's decision in her case.

Originally, Judge Clay Land had scheduled an emergency hearing on Friday, in Columbus, Georgia, in order to hear Rhodes’ case.  However, the Army forbade Rhodes from leaving her unit in Fort Riley, Kansas, where she had reported for duty.

Rhodes was sent to Fort Benning in time for today’s day in court.

"We need to see how will it be done. She (Rhodes) just wants to make sure that she is serving the remainder of her three term--which is only 1 year under lawful orders," said Attorney Orly Taitz, Captain Rhode's Lawyer, "Dr. Rhodes does not want to make any statements as to what she will do in the future. We will have to see what or how the orders or what is the decision that will come from judge land."

Attorney for the Army, Major Rebecca Ausprung pressed her point in court that the orders are in fact lawful and the Rhodes should not be concerned with the person giving the orders - meaning Barack Obama.

Well, excuse me, Major Ausprung, but I do believe Captain Rhodes has every right in the world to be concerned about the validity of her orders.  It’s her life that is at stake here.

Judge Land says he will issue a written ruling by Wednesday (September 16) at noon.

I am really impressed with Orly’s persistence in this whole saga of the missing birth certificate.  While other lawyers have fallen by the wayside and taken the time to criticize Orly on her legal expertise and behavior, she has marched on undaunted. 

You know, I have always believed that form follows function (not the reverse).  So, if it is the function, or purpose, of these court challenges and lawsuits to force the so-called president to prove he is eligible for the position he now holds, and considering this has never been an issue before, then I guess that the form of the plaintiff must be the correct one, because there appears to be progress. 

In other bc news, Orly also has a tentative court date scheduled in California for a hearing on another case. If this hearing goes forth, it will be the first time the merits of the dispute have been argued in open court.

Weekend Meditation: The Beatitudes

According to the Christian tradition, Jesus the Christ, Son of God and son of man, went to the top of a mountain and spoke to the multitudes (Matthew 5:3-12).  This is known as the Sermon on the Mount.  The Beatitudes are a part of that sermon; I think they are a synopsis of Jesus’ teachings.

Congressman shouts out “Lie” during the One's speech

There were two honest words spoken last night during the illustrious One’s speech: “You Lie!” And it wasn’t spoken by the One.

Kudos to Rep. Joe Wilson (R - SC) for shouting out “You Lie” during the One’s health speech.  He did the shout-out after the One claimed that illegal immigrants would not be covered under ‘his’ (whatever that means) bill. 

Below is a video of the best moment of the night; the One denies illegal immigrant coverage (just after he calls Sarah Palin (without saying her name) a liar; then Wilson shouts out the only accurate description of the night (one big lie). 

Thank you Rep. Wilson!!!  I guess he was the star of the show because I just tried to access his congressional website and due to an unusuallly high volume of traffic it is temporarily not accessible.  Hope you all are sending him thank you notes!

Is Dr. Frankenstein advising the White House? Or, why do we need more organ donors, if we want more people to die?

I’m confused. On the one hand we have presidential advisors who want to encourage people to choose pain killers over medical treatment; to choose abortion over birth for a variety of reasons, including the possibility of having a Downs Syndrome child; and to choose state-assisted suicide over burdening their families.

On the other hand we have other advisors, namely Cass Sunstein, just another czar-in-waiting in the Obama administration, wanting to change the law so that more  people will donate organs to those very same people who I thought we wanted to die because they are either too old, too disabled, or are leading a value-less life.

Sunstein supports reversing the current organ donor law, which states that a person has to specifically say they want to donate an organ or it is assumed they are opting-out of this option. Sunstein would change the policy to what is called presumed consent; assuming everyone is a donor unless they register to opt-out.  

In his 2008 book "Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness," Sunstein argues that changing the policy would "save many lives while also preserving freedom."

So, what exactly does our current leader, and his henchmen, propose to do with all of these newly harvested organs if they are not interested in extending the lives of people who need them to survive?

Is Dr. Death, with assistance from his far-out friends, planning on building that civilian military corps, literally?  Hey, hack off an arm here, a leg there, and an obatimized brain there, and voila!  He has his dream team-in-waiting!

Seriously, don’t you think someone should start asking some questions? Because if that is the plan, then I sure don’t want my body parts to go to someone who looks as bad as the last patched together monster I remember seeing at the movie theaters.

Prototype of civilian military corps?

Although, if the plan is to gain control of the birth, life, and death of the American people, creating a civilian military corps that ugly would be one sure way to scare the bajeezus out of any of those mobsters showing up at town hall meetings and tea parties.

The History of Labor Day

Labor Day weekend is the traditional end of summer vacation and, at least it used to be, the last big party before school resumes for the kiddies. (Now a days, some schools start up in August).

Most people think cookout, hotdogs, hamburgers, and fun.  But there is a history behind this day; and it’s a history of the working people of this nation. 

These days, the unions are associated with thugs and propaganda, but when they were originally formed they served to bring about such things as the 8-hour work day and the abolition of child labor.

My dad was a proud member of the United Rubber Workers of America and it was because of the good wages and working conditions fought and won by the union that my sisters and I were able to go to college and make our own way in life. 

I guess we were working class, or some might say lower class, but we never knew it, because all of our needs were met by my first generation father and the job he had in the local tire factory.  So, although I know union-bashing is hip and cool these days, I still honor and respect what was achieved for people like my dad and his generation as a result of the union movement.
