"We the people are the rightful master of both congress and the courts - not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." - Abraham Lincoln
Someone commented on one of my articles that the only good thing that has come out of their involvement in this year’s election, and fighting for our Constitution so that the usurper president-elect never makes it to the white house, was to become more knowledgeable about their computer.Knowledge is power and being able to navigate around the internet is an excellent skill to hone. So, hey, that’s a good thing and that skill will continue to serve you.
Anyway, it got me thinking about how one of the good things that has resulted from my involvement in the election and, yes, keeping the usurper out of the white house, is my renewed interest in our Founding Fathers, the American Revolution, and our Constitution.I think I mentioned in an earlier blog that I am reading a book about Thomas Paine, who was the author of Common Sense and various other revolutionary pamphlets and books. The two Toms, Paine and Jefferson, were believers in We The People.John Adams, on the other hand, was more of an elitist, sort of like most of the people running our government today.
(On an aside, John’s wife Abigail was absolutely smitten with Tom Paine and Common Sense. In fact, Paine seemed to have turned her into a feminist. She wrote her husband, saying that when he wrote the new code of laws, to remember the ladies, and she even threatened insurrection, saying that the ladies were determined to foment a rebellion and would certainly not obey any laws in which they had no voice or representation. That shook John up a bit, but not enough to change his mind on Paine, whom he was quite jealous of.)
I, and no doubt countless Americans, always thought of our Founding Fathers as revolutionaries, which would seem quite normal especially since we all are taught at some point about the Revolutionary War, which led to the founding of this country. So, what a surprise to find out that FEMA, our infamous (your doing a good job, Brownie) Federal Emergency Management Agency, is actually labeling our Founding Fathers terrorists in their training classes.Actually, more than that, our Founding Fathers are labeled the First Terrorist Organization.
Here’s the video.
My first thought on who is a terrorist and who is a revolutionary was that it probably depends on which side you are on. Then I resorted to the dictionary.
A revolution, as defined by Merriam Webster is “a sudden, radical, or complete change b: a fundamental change in political organization; especially : the overthrow or renunciation of one government or ruler and the substitution of another by the governed.”
According to this definition, our Founding Fathers would be revolutionaries as they were the governed overthrowing the current ruler. They would also fit the description of hero, as defined by Webster as “a man distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength; someone who fights for a cause.”
Phew, I sure am relieved to hear this; I was getting nervous about all these revolutionary quotes I’ve been plastering all over my blog. I was afraid I might be encouraging terrorism. Really, seriously, if our Founding Fathers are terrorists, the next step is we are not allowed to teach our children about them; display pictures of Washington, Jefferson, or Adams; and, before long, the American Flag will be banned as a symbol of a terrorist organization.
The definition of terrorist or terrorism is not quite so clear cut, however. For example, the U.S. Department of Justice’s definition of terrorism is:
“. . .the unlawful use of force or violence committed by a group or individual against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.”
Merriam Webster defines terror as: “violent or destructive acts (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands.”
Folks, this is murky. It doesn’t say anything about whether the terrorists are the governed, outsiders, or aliens from outer space. These definitions are what I would call B—R----O----A---D. This is not so good. By these definitions, a terrorist could be a Patriot with a muzzle gun who is fighting the American Revolution. This is where things get weird and people end up in jail with the key thrown away because they stood up for our Constitution.
I always think it is bad to act out of fear, and that is what all of this terrorism stuff is all about.
The whole country went psychotic after 9/11 and our illustrious leaders in the House of Lords wrote a whole bunch of laws based on fear.
Our Founding Fathers acted out of courage and faith, not fear. And that’s why we ended up with a Constitution that makes sense, is full of integrity, is honest, and continues to be the law of the land, although that is in question right now.
Since at least 52% of the population has moved from psychosis to delusion, it is up the remaining 48% to stay true to our history, to continue to speak up for our Constitution, and to not get discouraged. It took years to establish this country; it didn’t happen over night. It may take awhile for the truth to be known (about the usurper and those who support him, which means our entire Congress and SCOTUS). But we can succeed. Keep up the good fight. Keep the faith. And don’t remain silent.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families touched by these acts of terror in Mumbai. We still do not know the full measure of this tragedy, which has taken the lives of Indian citizens, Americans, and others who had traveled to Mumbai from around the world. Two New Yorkers, Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and Rivka Holtzberg of Brooklyn are among those who have died, leaving behind their young son. The young couple had traveled from Brooklyn to manage a small Chabad house, welcoming Jews from India and elsewhere to learn, pray, and serve the community.
There could be no sharper a reminder, nor a more poignant call to action, than the brutal and heinous violence visited upon the Nariman House and the Holtzberg family, living and working in Mumbai on a mission of peace, scholarship, and spiritual guidance.
As those responsible are brought to justice, as we aid and support the victims and their families, as we work to defeat radical extremism and the terror it spawns, let us find strength in knowing that in the face of those who seek to take lives, there are those who seek to give hope and comfort. In the face of those who wish only to destroy, there are individuals like Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and Rivka Holtzberg who travel great distances far from their homes to build a better world.
